Let's do this thing!

Hi. My name is Allie. And I'm addicted to house decorating blogs. Seriously. I can't get enough of them. I find them ridiculously inspiring and they make me want to do soooo much to my own home. Blogs and pinterest of course. I can't forget pinterest. The website I spend so much time looking at instead of doing. I love pretty homes and pretty things. It's kind of an obsession of mine. Let's just call it a hobby. That sounds much better, right? Sure!

My pinterest boards

So I'm starting my own project. I'm going to start beautifying my own home. I'm dedicating this blog into fixing up my fixer upper.

We've lived in our house for almost 8 years now. And I do love our home . Its a modest small house but its perfect for us. Its the house me and my husband came home to after we got married. The house I brought my babies home to. I could never see us moving. I love this house. It is brimming full of memories.

And yes I have done a lot of things to make it more into our home. But there is so much more I want to do. A lot of times I hold myself back. Anyone who knows me knows that I can be a perfectionist. It's annoying really. I hold myself back from doing things if I can't do them "perfect". So for the past few years I've not really decorated that much because I don't have enough money to do it "perfect". Plus I am a horrible procrastinator. Well that ends here. There are so many websites with inspiring ideas on how to fix up your home on a budget and well I'm inspired (just a reminder in case you haven't seen my blog title hehe).

So join me in my journey of being inspired to fix up and decorate my entire home on a budget. I've decided to no longer be that procrastinating perfectionist (say that ten times fast!) and to actually it done. I'm going to do projects around the house, some DIY projects I've pinned on pinterest and take lots of pictures of the befores, durings, and afters.

So let's do this thing!!

  2. I also want to add, you do NOT need a lot of money to decorate. Most the things I share, all all so budget friendly for just about anyone. I get more gratification from making my own, picking from the trash or just plain ole coming up with something out of nothing. Go under my diy project gallery under my header and you can see things I have done, cheap, and free! I just worked on a pallet today, that has been sitting in my yard since last summer. I can't wait to share it. FREE!

  6. Hi Allie,
Seen you at Debbiedoo's. Great introduction and I can't wait to see what all you do. As I was reading your story I thought, we must be cyber sisters. ha,ha because I too have the "just perfect procrastination thing" going for me or against me however it may be. The reason I started my blog was also to fix up every room in our home and surroundings hence the name "Transformations from the Heart".
I will visit often to see what you're up to.
    Have a great day!

  12. I am very excited to find your new blog. It is exhilarating to know that I can be here to see all of your home improvements as you remodel and blog about them. My husband and I bought our home a little over 30 years ago. It to was a fixer upper and through the years we have slowly made it the home of our dreams. Little by little as you make it your own, it will become more that a home, more like a member of the family. I have one small piece of door jam in the hall that I never have painted and never will . . . why because I measured my daughter's growth from year to year on that door jam (it's very special to my heart). As soon as I'm finished with this comment, I'm going to become a follower and I would like to invite you to do the same. Come visit, my welcome mat is always out and I love making new friends. Have a wonderful day! Your new blogging friend, Connie :)

  15. Oh my, your three boys are GORGEOUS!

I was overwhelmed when we bought our place, too. The exterior was so run-down and boring. I just tackled one little project at a time and after awhile, it really starts to make a difference.

Good luck and I hear ya on the perfectionist thing.... we sound alot alike! :)
