My new name is...

This Yellow House

After giving it much thought like I mentioned here in my last post, I am changing my name.  I really feel like my new blog name "fits" me better, ya know? I know I'm going to be making lots and lots of tweaks to my blog over time but this is kind of a really big one. 

Why you ask? Well, for one thing my entire URL address will be changing. So if you have www.theinspiredmomma.com saved, please change it to www.thisyellowhouse.com on your bookmarks. I would really really appreciate that! If you are following me via Google Friend Connect (GFC) then everything should be ok. I am hoping that I did this in a way to keep all my followers. If you would like to make sure you are still following me I would really appreciate that!

Another big part of it is changing my banner, button and all those things that have my blog name on them. Which I will admit was a lot of fun! I know I'm not the best at making headers and all that but it really is fun learning new things. I was happy with the end result of my logo and the little house on it. And my husband said he was impressed so um yeah, that kinda just made my day. 

Ok so let me tell you why I went with THIS YELLOW HOUSE. We live in a little yellow house that I pretty much love. You may have remembered me talking about how much I love our house in the very first blog post I wrote here. It is so full of memories and sentimental things. We are really excited to be fixing it up and making it beautiful. I really do love our house and the people in it. I had my husband help me with the tagline for my blog and together we came up with:

"Little House, BIG Dreams, One Happy Family"

So those are my big changes around here. I am so glad I went ahead and did this. Thank you to ya'll who encouraged me to make the change. I really love my new name. If my site goes down temporarily, I apologize. I'm still learning how to do all of this but hopefully things will be up and running smooth soon!

Don't ya just love 90s music? Yes I was a 90s child and I loved Destiny's child. I had their cd and I loved, loved, loved "Say my name". My mom did too because I remember us singing it together. Ok sorry bout the stroll down memory lane. But I do have something to write about names...

I'm considering changing my blog name. *gasp* I know what youre thinking. That is just too much trouble and it's not worth the risk. At least that's what I keep reading whenever I google changing blog name. But I've been thinking a lot about it. (Since my foot is still hurt and I'm stuck in bed that's about all I can do is sit around and think).

Here's my dilemma, I picked The Inspired Momma name really fast not giving it much thought. I was just seriously that excited to start blogging I picked my name in two seconds. And now when I tell people my blog name they are like huh? I know my name means that I'm inspired by all the blogs and pins I see to make my home beautiful. And I always have to explain that. Every time. And then I still usually have to say "it's about fixing up our house". Plus when my friends try to visit my site they never find it. Apparently a lot of people don't use the word momma. They put in mom, mommy, and mama before finding me.

So after giving it much much thought, I've decided to make the big jump and change it now. My new name will reflect more on how this blog is about my home. I figured this weekend would be an opportune time to make the ol switcharoo since I'm stuck in bed anyways.

At least I hope I can change it. Does anyone out there have any tips for me? Have any of ya'll made a blog name change?

Guess who's back. Back again...

...Allie's back, tell a friend...Hey y'all! I am so happy to be back in blogland again. Like I mentioned in my last post I really needed to take a break from it to focus on some things my family is going through. Isnt it so true that when it rains it pours? Well at least that's how it felt for us in June. We had some things we were going through, some medical and others just personal. Two close family members had some health issues. But things are looking better now so that's good.


I am so excited to get back to work on the house and catch up on reading my favorite DIY blogs! I've already reinstated my love for pinterest. I've had a little time on my hands this weekend.

On Friday I was rushing to get the house picked up so some repair guys could come fix our a/c, and I cut my foot really bad. A broom without the top plastic part fell on the floor. And I was carrying some things to my kids room in a hurry and didn't see the broom on floor. And my pinky toe got caught in the top part and cut it really bad. I had to go to ER it was that bad. (Side note: I get hurt in the weirdest ways, who else gets cut by a broom handle?!) The doctor said she wishes she could put stitches in it but the cut was in such a weird spot it would pull my toe down weird. So I'm having to let it just heal. And it's on the bottom of my foot so I was told not to walk on it. GREAT! *insert sarcasm there*. So yeah I'm stuck in bed or just off my foot. I'm even in bed writing this on my iPad right now. But on the bright side I get lots of time to catch up on reading blogs and pinterest, so it's all good! Plus I have an awesome husband who is taking really good care of me.

So I am one happy momma right now. And I'm super glad to be back!
